Cardiac Care RN – St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO. Position :  Full Time, Non‑Exempt.

Shift: Nights (7 pm–7 am). 12‑hour shift options. Compensation includes bonus options up to $20,000.

We are seeking a Cardiac Care Registered Nurse (RN), also referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (CCU RN). The Cardiac Nurse plays a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions and associated illnesses, providing tailored care to enhance recovery and improve quality of life.

• Monitor patients’ cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities.
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications.
• Perform assessments of patients’ cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms.
• Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self‑care practices.
• React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, and implement emergency procedures, CPR, and use of defibrillator.

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Medical‑Surgical Nurse‑Board Certified (RN‑BC) or similar certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
