Registered Nurse (RN) – School-Based Float

Location: North Kansas City, MO

Local candidates only – no travel candidates

Assignment Dates: ASAP – May 28th 2026

Hours: Full-time | 40 hours per week

This is a school-based RN float position supporting general health rooms across multiple school sites. The nurse will train alongside another RN for approximately two weeks, then transition to independently managing a school health room as the primary RN.

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week
• Float role supporting general school health rooms
• Two weeks of training with another RN before transitioning to independently running a school health room
• Typically serves as the sole RN on site after training
• Schedules vary by location:
  • High schools: approximately 7:00 AM–2:30 PM
  • Elementary schools: approximately 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Weekly schedule provided on Sundays, with possible changes due to field trips or call-outs
• Schedule changes may occur the morning of, so flexibility is required
• Must be comfortable working with PreK–12 students
• All charting is computer-based; strong technology and multitasking skills are required

• Serve as the primary RN in school health rooms
• Manage day-to-day health room operations independently
• Charting is completed entirely on computers – must be comfortable with technology and multitasking
• Comfortable working with PreK–12 students

• Active Missouri RN license
• Recent pediatric experience required
• Preferred backgrounds: ICU, ER, or school nursing
• No new graduates
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to changing schedules
