Summary
The navigator nurse will improve patient preparedness for treatment by providing education and psychosocial support and assistance with navigation through a multidisciplinary care system. The nurse navigator facilitates interaction between patients and their physicians, provides logistical support, coordinates appointments, and serves as a guide through cancer treatment. The nurse navigator provides varying levels of service to patients during early detection, screening, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The primary role is to eliminate barriers to care.
3 years RN experience and 2 years Oncology preferred.
Special SkillsStrong written and verbal skills, excellent customer service, and organizational skills.
OtherBasic computer skills.
License/CERTRequired:
RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association). Preferred: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse).
Required:
Associates – Nursing. Preferred:
Bachelors – Nursing.
