Position ObjectiveThe Resource Specialist Supervisor will oversee all Resource Specialists, ensuring day‑to‑day operational excellence, providing leadership, and delivering high‑quality resource solutions to households. The role also supports staff in using a client‑centric service model to promote self‑sufficiency and dignity.
Responsibilities- Supervise and oversee all Resource Specialists, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Provide guidance on employment assessments, evaluations, and other staff responsibilities.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to monitor progress and address challenges.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of community resources for housing, transportation, rent and utility assistance, mental health, physical health, food, employment, and substance abuse needs.
- Ensure Resource Specialists adhere to eligibility criteria and program guidelines.
- Supervise social work students and interns, supporting their professional development.
- Build relationships with local partners for emergency assistance resources.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive resource lists for individuals and agencies.
- Provide short‑term, same‑day service coordination for individuals seeking support from Catholic Charities.
- Track data, complete reports, and manage budget and expenditures.
- Train new staff and volunteers on resource solutions and program policies.
- Represent Catholic Charities in community meetings and partnerships.
- Collaborate with staff to improve processes and promote quality services.
- Assist Marketing with media opportunities to share success stories.
- Oversee client inquiries, screenings, and assessments.
- Facilitate client connections to Catholic Charities programs and external resources.
- Connect clients to volunteer mentors when appropriate.
- Perform other supervisory duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field from an accredited institution, or 10+ years of relevant experience for those without a degree.
- Minimum of two years of direct services or case management experience, with substantial knowledge of Kansas City social services resources.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- LMSW strongly preferred.
Location:
5151 Troost Ave, Ste 100, Kansas City, MO 64110 (Rockhurst). 38‑hour condensed workweek, Monday‑Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; off on Fridays.
