This position is responsible for using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, fixtures, and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble and disassemble components.
LocationKRC 4800 Deramus Ave, Kansas City, MO 64120
ScheduleMonday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 3:30 pm. This position may require flexibility to work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
Duties and Responsibilities- Follow detailed assembly/disassembly instructions, processes and procedures
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies
- Disassemble components using hand and power tools
- Cleave and buff components
- Wash components in solvent and run parts through a parts washer
- Blow out parts to remove solvent and dirt
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 5S protocol
- Ensure that schedules run exactly as listed
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Turn off equipment when not in use
- Pay attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
- Be willing to cross‑train
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all PPE requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of basic mechanics, hand tools, and machine testing procedures
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience performing mechanical jobs, assembly and disassembly
- Experience with overhead crane is a plus, but not required
Skills and Abilities
- Must have: Be able to identify and use specific hand, pneumatic, and power tools
- Preferred: Mechanical training (voche or previous job experience) – a plus, but not required
- Nice to have: Able to correctly use and read analog and digital measuring devices (micrometers, indicators, calipers, etc.)
- Basic computer skills are a plus but not required
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently in English
- Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Employee is required to walk throughout the day and stand for extended periods, including full shifts as part of essential duties
- The position requires the employee to be on‑site during the scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities
- Work is performed in a shop environment that is non‑temperature‑controlled, with exposure to varying temperatures and other environmental factors
The salary for this role is currently $21.50/hour. The base pay range may be modified in the future. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement options. Additional benefits such as an annual bonus may be available if eligible.
