The welder will work collaboratively with others in similar roles to produce highly engineered, custom built mobile material handling machinery for rail related markets by using mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly techniques as well as welding, electrical wiring and hitching on overhead cranes and jibs.

The welder will work collaboratively with others in similar roles to produce highly engineered, custom built mobile material handling machinery for rail related markets by using mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly techniques as well as welding, electrical wiring and hitching on overhead cranes and jibs.

As a member of the Components Division, you will be responsible for welding fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations. You will test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. You will also use hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. You will be required to identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary.

Team members may assist less experienced team members with knowledge and expertise.

• Ability to fabricate small components.
• Complete production and quality assurance forms.

• Follow and maintain 5S activities.
• Read and follow standard work, BOMs, blueprints, routings, specifications and other diagrams/instructions in order to paint parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Obtain necessary tools and equipment.
• Handle material, tools and equipment manually or with jib crane, performing own hitching as required.
• Maintain high quality standards.
• Consistently maintain level of productivity as determined by management.
• Prepare machinery for shipping.

• Employee is required to wear appropriate PPE such as steel toe boots and safety glasses.
• Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, work underneath equipment, reach above shoulders, and climb.
• Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products.

The starting hourly rate of this position is $26.00. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. • High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 3-5+ years in custom build shop preferred.
• Technical Skills.
• 2 years of MIG experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to operate a computer to read and input data.
• Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret 3D prints/schematics to complete standard work.
