Area Business Manager

We are seeking a highly capable individual for the position of Area Business Manager (ABM) in the US Petcare Division. The primary responsibilities include leadership and development of colleagues, utilizing solution coaching and business planning capabilities to execute strategies that maximize sales performance within the assigned geography. The ABM will lead and model Zoetis Core Beliefs within the team and company.

• Lead and develop all colleagues in the area based on their positions.
• Demonstrate Solution Coaching capabilities consistently.
• Direct the business activities of Territory Business Managers (TBMs) and Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) to meet management objectives.
• Attract, develop, evaluate, and retain top talent through recruiting, coaching, and performance management tools.
• Spend 75% of available time on field-coaching to help TBMs and SAMs meet performance objectives.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration across the team.
• Meet or exceed sales quotas, including key growth products, through coaching and development.
• Lead the launch of new products, services, and equipment.
• Improve key sales metrics such as growth rates and overall health of the area business.

• Develop annual strategic business plans with demographics, economics, performance, and actionable items.
• Coordinate marketing efforts and allocate resources effectively.
• Handle administrative duties including expenses, performance reviews, and reporting.
• Participate in new product launches and regional sales meetings.
• Engage in special projects as assigned by management.

• Minimum of 3 years of management experience leading external talent.

• Proven success in sales roles with leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, complex environment and use analytics for decision-making.
• Experience with animal health and small animal veterinary medicine is preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively (70-80%).
