Position:
Maintenance Porter (Parking Operations) – Full-Time

Responsibilities
  • Basic Function
    :
    This position is involved with facility maintenance duties and customer interface. Individual must be able to perform with minimum supervision. Other duties may include: equipment service and general housekeeping tasks.
  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted in the checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure removal of dirt, dust, litter and debris from all areas of the facility using appropriate tools.
  • Walk garage daily to note and correct any maintenance problems.
  • Sweep and pick up around entrances/exits to the garage and stairwells; clean surface rails, the booth, the office and restrooms.
  • Empty all trashcans in the garage, the booth and the office.
  • Paint areas of the facility as directed to maintain appearance of surfaces such as poles, signs, doors, walls, curbs, islands, gates, etc.
  • Replace burned-out bulbs.
  • Apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
  • Submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
  • Check safety items (e.g., gate arms) for secure clearance bars.
  • Check ticket spitters and gates daily for proper operations and general appearance.
  • Provide ticket and record gate counters to the Manager.
  • Maintain an inventory of janitorial supplies.
  • Maintain a garage/lot sweep sheet.
  • Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers and related equipment; use outdoor tools as applicable.
  • Shovel, plow or blow snow from entrances or exits as directed.
  • Report safety hazards or policy violations to the Facility Manager in a timely manner.
  • Practice the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and Five Customer Service Behaviors to ensure positive interactions.
  • Assist customers within the facility or as directed; resolve complaints with supervisor support when needed.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of operation and cover other duties including cashier/attendant as needed.
  • Maintain a neat, clean appearance and wear a complete uniform during scheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education/

    Experience:

    High School Diploma or a combination of experience and education. May require facility maintenance, electrical and/or painting experience depending on assignment.
  • License: Valid state-issued driver’s license with driving record acceptable for company vehicle use if required.
  • Availability: Special shift requirements; availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be needed depending on location.
  • Oral/Written Communication: Clear speech; ability to read and interpret information; responses to inquiries.
  • Customer Service: Positive attitude; responsive to requests for service.
  • Adaptability, Judgment, Professionalism: Able to adapt to changes, exercise sound judgment, perform under pressure.
  • Language: Ability to read, write and interpret English; respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Physical Demands: Regular use of hands; ability to stand, walk, climb, bend; lift/move 50+ pounds; work in various weather; vision requirements described in original posting.
  • Salary Range: $19.00 per hour.
