Job Title

QMI Certified Railcar Mechanic

• Make general repairs to railroad cars using various tools including cutting torch, grinder and welder. No prior railcar repair experience needed but helpful.

• Existing QMI certification preferred
• Certified Welder Experience Preferred

• Comply with all industry, customer and company safety regulations and operating procedures
• Ensure that management is aware of current conditions and needed repair of all company equipment
• Notify site management of "bad order" (unserviceable) equipment
• Perform authorized repairs to customer, company and industry specification
• Document all repairs, properly accounting for actual time and parts utilized
• Operate various types of mechanical equipment including forklifts, spotter trucks, etc.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required by Management

• Must possess and demonstrate appropriate mechanical aptitude, as determined by the facility manager, to successfully perform the tasks associated with designated classification
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Able to meet attendance requirements
• A team work, can do attitude and willing to learn
• High School Diploma/GED or Ability
• Safety first mentality
• Valid state driver s license
