Mass Tort Legal Assistant
Position Overview:
A well-regarded law firm in Kansas City, MO is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mass Tort Legal Assistant to support its litigation team. This permanent, full-time role offers a hybrid work model
, combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys in high-volume mass tort litigation and managing complex case files.
- Assist attorneys with case management, including intake, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Draft and format legal documents such as complaints, motions, and correspondence.
- Maintain and organize large volumes of case files and client records.
- Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, and court personnel regarding case updates and deadlines.
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Track deadlines, hearings, and deposition schedules across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support attorneys with document review and production.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant in mass tort or complex litigation.
- Familiarity with multi-district litigation (MDL) procedures and case management systems.
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g., Relativity, Case Map, Trial Director) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma required; associate degree or legal assistant certificate preferred.
- Competitive base salary of $60,000–$75,000.
