PURPOSE OF JOB:
Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a variety of situations using the appropriate sign language system to facilitate communication between individuals so that optimum learning can take place.
What You ll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)
- Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students who are mainstreamed into regular education classes (academic, support).
- Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students at school functions and extracurricular activities.
- Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during psycho-educational and other evaluations by the District or contracted personnel.
- Interpret for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students/parents at placement or other educational related conferences/activities.
- Interpret as assigned according to individual student or program needs.

To Be Successful at This Job, You ll Need To: (Qualifications)
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of Certification Level III - Missouri Certification & Licensure
Note:
out of state certifications are subject to review/approval by District Administration and the Missouri Commission for the Deaf (MCD)
In Order to #Level Up in This Role, You ll Need: (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Educational interpreting experience
- Completion of Interpreter Training Program
