About the Role
We’re looking for an IT Applications Specialist who enjoys solving technical challenges, supporting design/engineering teams, and working with a broad mix of specialized software. In this role, you’ll be the go‑to resource for users needing expert help with design tools, application performance, and workflow troubleshooting.
You’ll support internal teams across multiple offices and play a key part in improving the experience and efficiency of users who rely on engineering‑focused applications.
What You’ll Do
- Provide phone, chat, and email support for users experiencing issues with design or engineering applications
- Diagnose and resolve software problems and escalate more complex issues when needed
- Maintain and update internal knowledge articles for commonly reported issues
- Assist with application deployments and updates across different teams
- Test new software releases and share feedback with internal stakeholders
- Analyze recurring issues, identify patterns, and recommend improvements
- Track issues in the ticketing system and follow through to resolution
- Partner with vendors to troubleshoot application defects or limitations
- Participate in beta programs for new or updated applications
- Offer training, tips, and best practices to internal users
- Stay up to date on new design tools, industry applications, and product enhancements
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, CAD, Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience
- 4+ years of experience supporting or troubleshooting design/engineering software
- Strong familiarity with tools such as Autodesk, Revit, Bentley, Hexagon, ESRI, or similar platforms
- Excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts to users with varying skill levels
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests at once
- Comfort working independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC administration
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience working in an AEC, architecture, engineering, or construction environment
- Exposure to hardware benchmarking or performance testing
- Previous experience authoring training materials or delivering internal training
