In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. SummaryThe App Development Analyst II will lead moderately complex projects that require skill in a diverse array of programming expertise. This role is responsible for application analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, and support of complex issues.
Duties and Responsibilities- Works directly with business customers and technical team
- Contributes to implementation strategy discussion for testing to ensure functionality supports business processes.
- Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code which may include Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) configurations.
- Collaborates with technical team to improve product’s functionality.
- Conducts code reviews, quality assurance activities, and practices fundamental Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes.
- Stays up to date with application releases, adjacent relevant technology, and industry best practices.
- Authors knowledge sharing documentation.
- Participates and leads application tasks specific to multiple medium level projects.
- Provides value added coding based on understanding of business process.
- Identifies appropriate level of team interactions to resolve issues and lead effective collaboration and meetings.
- Demonstrates skill in identifying and resolving technical problems and effectively communicating the problems to vendors, customers, and team members.
- Two or more years of direct work experience
- Bachelor's degree, certification or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or certification
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- Knowledge of API design standards, patterns and best-practices especially OpenAPI, REST, SOAP, MQ, JSON, or Microservices architecture
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, maintain accurate records, prioritize work, and analyze problems
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines process
- Core competencies in the following languages and applications (e.g., SQL, Python, HTML, JAVA, Git Lab)
- Industry knowledge of manufacturing, government, and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
- Demonstrated initiative to maintain technical currency through outside studies and training
