At Battle Road, we’re applying state-of-the-art innovations and experience from the video game industry to build the future of simulations, modeling, and operations with Atom Engine – our proprietary cloud-based game engine that’s making the world playable. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a services engineer to improve and mature our back-end infrastructure.

As a Cloud Services Engineer, you’ll join a team of experienced game developers building Atom Engine, our scalable cloud-based simulation and modeling platform. In this role you’ll work closely with the existing services team to develop technical architectures aligned with business goals and execute engineering objectives.

• Lead a team of Cloud Services engineers
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS including matchmaking, dedicated multiplayer servers, analytics, and more.
• Assist game team in diagnosing and improving performance issues with clients connected to back-end services.
• Develop orchestration services to manage containerized applications in Kubernetes and Agones, dynamically adjusting capacity based on load.
• Implement monitoring solutions to track performance, capture logs, and generate alerts using tools like ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Write and maintain concise technical documentation that clearly identifies the purpose, scope, and dependencies of systems, and describes their interfaces.
• Implement networking technologies and solutions needed to ensure reliable and secure communication across complex systems.
• Design for security, incorporating principles such as zero-trust, segmentation, and least privilege to protect sensitive data and mitigate attack vectors.

• 5+ years engineering experience with coding skills.
• Developing scalable game back end or PaaS systems.
• Shipping and supporting live services.
• Building infrastructure with AWS (both AWS and Azure is a plus).
• RESTful API design.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Agones (both is a plus).
• Designing network systems for security.
• US Citizenship is mandatory for this position due to federal contract requirements.
• Located in the Orlando, FL area.
