Position: Talent Attraction & Recruitment Strategist - Corporate HR (Kansas City)

Description

The Staff Talent Generation Strategist will partner closely with the recruitment team and key business stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously evolve advanced sourcing and pipelining strategies for priority and hard to fill roles across the organization, including nationwide and international hiring needs. This role will proactively explore emerging talent markets and leverage technology and best practices to build sustainable talent pipelines that support both immediate and future business objectives.

The Strategist will play a key role in shaping the overall talent generation approach and strengthening how the organization attracts and engages talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the talent acquisition team and hiring stakeholders to understand current and forecasted hiring needs, role requirements, and workforce planning priorities.
  • Design, implement, and optimize a variety of sourcing tools, strategies, and processes to identify, engage, and cultivate qualified talent pools across multiple disciplines and geographies.
  • Research, interpret, and apply industry trends, labor market data, and best practices to recommend enhancements to sourcing approaches, tools, and overall recruitment effectiveness.
  • Conduct competitive and market intelligence reviews to assess employer brand positioning and incorporate findings into sourcing initiatives and campaign execution.
  • Lead sourcing and resurfacing efforts for passive and active candidates in support of key and strategic positions, proactively developing targeted pipelines by skill set, role type, and market to meet ongoing and future talent needs.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies and creative recruiting campaigns aligned to market conditions, talent availability, and business priorities.
  • Oversee employee referral sourcing efforts, including reviewing inbound referrals, managing candidate processing and referral payouts, and analyzing historical referral data to uncover new engagement opportunities.
  • Partner with corporate marketing to develop, maintain, and evolve a compelling recruitment brand and employment value proposition that is consistent, authentic, and aligned with business strategy.
  • Influence talent marketing strategy by using insights to align messaging, themes, and campaigns across digital and automated channels.
  • Develop and execute audience specific messaging and content that guides candidates through the talent journey from awareness through decision.
  • Maintain and enhance the company’s employer brand presence across platforms such as Linked In, Handshake, Glassdoor, and other relevant channels.
  • Execute the company’s job posting strategy, ensuring roles are effectively positioned across industry specific, discipline focused, and targeted candidate pool job boards.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of recruitment marketing and sourcing initiatives, leveraging insights to optimize outcomes and inform future strategies.
  • Maximize the impact of existing partnerships with universities, professional associations, and industry organizations while identifying and coordinating new partnerships to support strategic talent pipeline objectives.
  • Collaborate with recruiters and hiring managers to generate and refine candidate lead lists, providing market insight and recommendations to improve candidate quality and speed to fill.
  • Research, pilot, and present innovative ideas to enhance talent identification, networking, and pipeline development, continuously improving sourcing effectiveness.
  • Index, organize, and maintain candidates within the ATS and CRM to support efficient talent engagement and long-term pipeline readiness.
  • Deliver internal training and resources to advance sourcing and talent engagement skills among recruiters and hiring teams.
  • Collaborate on sourcing projects and initiatives with internal partners, including the Burns & McDonnell India team and HR Shared Services.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deliverables are completed within established timelines, escalating complex issues or risks as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in human resources, business, or related field and 4 years sourcing or recruiting experience Required
  • Previous experience recruiting or sourcing for technical positions, particularly in the field of engineering, within a high-volume recruiting environment is preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and Internet-based sourcing tools is required.
  • Understanding of the Boolean search language, and how those search principles apply to both Internet and database searches. Preferably proficient with Boolean search techniques.
  • Ability to develop creative and innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
