Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to support and lead key HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and training within a hospitality environment. This role serves as a trusted partner to leadership and employees, helping foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring alignment with company policies and employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment and Onboarding: Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offer extensions, and coordination of new hire orientations and required documentation (I-9s, etc.).
- Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee concerns, conduct investigations, facilitate conflict resolution, and provide guidance to leaders on workplace issues and corrective action.
- Compensation and Benefits: Administer health insurance and retirement plans (401k), support payroll processes, and manage employee leave programs including FMLA.
- Performance Management: Partner with managers on performance evaluations, goal setting, coaching, and development plans to improve employee engagement and productivity.
- Training and Development: Identify organizational training needs; conduct, track, and ensure compliance with all brand, state, and federal required training; coordinate compliance and soft skills workshops; and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Policy and Compliance: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; and maintain accurate employee records.
- HRIS and Administration: Oversee employee data within HR Information Systems (HRIS), maintain personnel files, and manage offboarding processes including exit interviews and terminations.
- Leadership Support: Provide strategic HR guidance to department leaders and contribute to continuous improvement of HR practices.
- Hospitality Operations Support: Collaborate with hotel leadership to support staffing needs, employee engagement initiatives, and service culture expectations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Minimum of five years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and compliance
Prior hospitality or service-industry HR experience required, Marriott brand preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws including ADA, FMLA, and OSHA
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
Proven organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
Basic PC knowledge with minimum typing speed of 45 WPM,
Ability to write and communicate professionally; bilingual fluency is a plus
Hospitality-focused mindset with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills with knowledge of professional practices and procedures
Ability to interpret policies and determine appropriate courses of action
May require supervisory or management skills
Excellent hearing to address employee concerns, conduct interviews, and perform phone work
Excellent vision to review documentation, read applications, and maintain records
Strong verbal communication skills for interviews, counseling sessions, and phone work
Strong reading comprehension and literacy skills for preparing and reviewing documentation

Reading and writing abilities used frequently for documentation and issue tracking
Basic math skills used periodically
