Kansas City, MO

Summary

A leading national law firm has an immediate opening for a Payroll Analyst in the Kansas City office. The successful candidate will have 5 years of experience working in payroll processing; multi-office and multi-state experience is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and be able to adjust as needed to the firm’s continually growing needs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly payroll process for shareholders, including retiree payments, special tax overrides, and adjustments
  • Review semi-monthly payroll edits
  • Manage employee wage garnishments, child support, and tax levies processes
  • Review and process manual checks and wires as needed
  • Work closely with the Human Resources department for payroll-related issues including benefit premiums, 401(k) deductions and employee leave of absence
  • Monitor payroll email inbox and respond to inquiries
  • Work closely with accountant team on payroll reconciliations
  • Review new hire and status change information updates to the payroll system
  • Independently resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Manage PTO balances
  • Document and maintain payroll procedures as needed
  • Assist Payroll Manager with quarterly and fiscal year-end Shareholder bonuses
  • Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining employee confidentiality
  • Provide ad hoc reports as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources, or related field
  • Five years of experience with payroll processing
  • Proficiency in UKG Pro payroll system preferred
  • Proficiency with iManage Records Manager and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Advanced Excel skills preferred.
Compensation
  • $80,000.00 to $85,0000.00 annually
