Polsinelli PC has an immediate opening for a Payroll Analyst in the Kansas City office. The successful candidate will have 5 years of experience working in payroll processing; multi-office and multi-state experience is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and be able to adjust as needed to the firm’s continually growing needs.
Core Responsibilities- Lead the monthly payroll process for shareholders, including retiree payments, special tax overrides, and adjustments
- Review semi-monthly payroll edits
- Manage employee wage garnishments, child support, and tax levies processes
- Review and process manual checks and wires as needed
- Work closely with the Human Resources department for payroll-related issues including benefit premiums, 401(k) deductions and employee leave of absence
- Monitor payroll email inbox and respond to inquiries
- Work closely with accountant team on payroll reconciliations
- Review new hire and status change information updates to the payroll system
- Independently resolve payroll discrepancies
- Manage PTO balances
- Document and maintain payroll procedures as needed
- Assist Payroll Manager with quarterly and fiscal year-end Shareholder bonuses
- Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining employee confidentiality
- Provide ad hoc reports as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Employees approved for flexible work arrangements are expected to be available and maintain a practice of reliable, consistent attendance during the employees scheduled work shift including, but not limited to, Zoom, email and voicemail, and by phone.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, human resources, or related field
- Five years of experience with payroll processing
- Proficiency in UKG Pro payroll system preferred
- Proficiency with iManage Records Manager and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Advanced Excel skills preferred.
