About the RoleThe Rooms Coordinator/Guest Services plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless management and allocation of guest accommodations within the hospitality environment. This position is responsible for coordinating room assignments, managing reservations, and collaborating closely with housekeeping and front desk to maintain high standards of guest satisfaction. The Rooms Coordinator acts as a central communication hub, addressing guest requests and resolving any room-related issues promptly and efficiently.
By overseeing room availability and maintenance schedules, this role directly contributes to optimizing occupancy rates and enhancing the overall guest experience. Ultimately, the Rooms Coordinator ensures that all aspects of room management operate smoothly to support the establishment’s reputation for exceptional service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in hotel operations, front desk, or room coordination roles.
- Proficiency with reservation and property management systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Associate degree or higher in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Must have Marriott FSPMS and MARSHA experience
- Experience with hospitality software such as Opera, Room Key, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in accommodation services.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Customer service certification or training.
- Manage daily room assignments and coordinate with front desk and housekeeping to ensure timely room readiness.
- Monitor room availability and update reservation systems accurately to maximize occupancy and revenue.
- Communicate effectively with guests to address special requests, resolve room-related issues, and provide information about accommodations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and track room repairs and upkeep, ensuring all rooms meet quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on room status, occupancy rates, and any incidents affecting guest accommodations.
- Work front desk to check guests in and out
Skills: The Rooms Coordinator utilizes organizational skills daily to manage multiple room assignments and ensure smooth operations across departments.
