Banquet Captain - InterContinental Hotel KC

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, service-driven Banquet Captain to lead banquet staff and ensure exceptional event execution. This role oversees event setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining company standards, food safety, and guest satisfaction.

• Assign stations and supervise banquet staff during events
• Ensure room setup aligns with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
• Coordinate with kitchen and event teams for seamless service
• Greet clients, address guest needs, and lead by example
• Train staff, conduct pre-/post-event briefings, and ensure policy compliance
• Complete billing and event documentation accurately

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years banquet/hospitality experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Alcohol awareness certification preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment (lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods)
