Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Manager supports the hotels’ mission to create exceptional guest and colleague experiences by proactively generating and securing wedding and local catering business to achieve revenue goals and maximize event profitability. This role involves building strong relationships with prospective couples, event planners, and community partners, while maintaining Hyatt’s brand of service and professionalism.

Collaboration with operations, culinary, and service teams is essential to deliver seamless, memorable experiences that drive repeat and referral business. This position works primarily Monday – Friday but flexibility for variable hours including evenings and weekends based on business needs is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Solicit and manage all Wedding business for the Hotel, as well as all Local catering.
  • Plan, up sell and detail programs with clients including; verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes, decorations, etc. for groups with (9) guest rooms or less on peak.
  • Communicate requirements of clients to all hotel departments through event resumes, event orders, pre-convention meetings with clients, internal departmental meetings, and event order meetings for groups with (9) guest rooms or less on peak.
  • Forecast banquet food and beverage revenues.
  • Monitor and control individual event budgets and details to maximize revenues and minimize expenses while ensuring delivery of a quality product.
  • Achieve a strong pace and funnel to meet and exceed individual assigned revenue goals.
  • Develop/Create exciting and memorable site inspections to accompany inventive and creative proposals.
  • Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors.
  • Assist in preparation of complete and accurate weekly reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Marketing Plan.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Friendly, customer centric, and values having fun while collaborating and contributing to a strong team morale.
  • Minimum two years’ large group selling experience and demonstrated success in a full-service hotel setting.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity and working experience with marketing plans, action plan creation, and both revenue and sales call goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
