Overview
We are recruiting a psychologist with expertise in behavioral sleep medicine. This position will include screening, assessment, and evidence-based intervention for youth cared for in the Childrens Mercy Sleep Disorders Program, the only pediatric program in the region accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The sleep psychologist will collaborate with a robust team of sleep medicine physicians, advance practice providers, respiratory therapists, and sleep technicians within the Division of Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine to provide multidisciplinary care.
The sleep psychologist will provide behavioral sleep interventions, collaborate with other care providers to address CPAP adherence, and participate in complex medical clinics such as narcolepsy, cataplexy, and parasomnias. This position will include a strong teaching component that includes both psychology and medical trainees.
This position includes protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities. Faculty mentoring and hospital-wide educational programs are available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives). This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.

- Collaborate with sleep medicine physicians, APPs, respiratory therapists, and sleep technicians for multidisciplinary care
- Provide behavioral sleep interventions and address CPAP adherence
- Participate in complex medical clinics (narcolepsy, cataplexy, parasomnias)
- Engage in teaching of psychology and medical trainees
- A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, or clinical child psychology
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship with clinical child and adolescent psychology as a major area of study
- Relevant experience
- Eligibility for licensure in Missouri and Kansas, including required postdoctoral experience
