Overview

As part of our commitment to transforming pediatric mental health care, Children's Mercy is proud to expand services through the Illuminate Initiative. We are thrilled to open our Partial Hospitalization Program and are seeking a compassionate, master's-level clinician to join our founding team.

In this role, you will provide evidence-based individual, group, and caregiver-focused therapy to children and adolescents participating in the PHP. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, behavioral health technicians, and behavioral health care coordinators to deliver comprehensive, person-centered care.

Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM

Children's Mercy Department of Social Work, Child and Family Mental Health Services provides programming that supports families through evidence-based clinical services. Our mental health services are provided for a broad range of patients and families, including children in mental health crisis, parents struggling with child’s behavioral problems, children and families impacted by trauma, and children at risk for abuse and neglect.

The age range for patients is as young as 2 and up to 18, or older within the emergency department if needed. Goals of treatment may include safety planning, crisis stabilization, skill development, enhanced resiliency, social integration, improved parental support, improved communication, and parenting skills. Our specially trained master‑level licensed clinicians are embedded throughout the hospital system within specialty clinics, ambulatory clinics, inpatient units, and emergency departments.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Child and Family Therapy Service Provision and Documentation:
    Provide evidence-based mental health treatments to patients and families within the clinical area assigned.
  • Case Management and

    Collaboration:

    Maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strong partnerships, including communication with referral sources and service providers.
  • Professional Development:
    Demonstrate active involvement and leadership within the team, department, and hospital through regular attendance at meetings and educational opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
    • 1‑2 years of experience
  • LMSW / MO Licensed Master’s Social Worker
    • Must hold a Missouri license (LMSW/LCSW or LPC) upon hire.
    • Within 90 days, must obtain a Kansas license.
  • LCSW / MO Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    • Must hold a Missouri license (LMSW/LCSW or LPC) upon hire.
    • Within 90 days, must obtain a Kansas license.
  • MO LPC / Licensed Professional Counselor
    • Must hold a Missouri license (LMSW/LCSW or LPC) upon hire.
    • Within 90 days, must obtain a Kansas license.
