About the RoleJoin a high-performing laboratory team committed to accuracy, quality, and exceptional patient care. We are seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Supervisor to lead multi-department operations within the Lakewood Clinical Laboratory. This role is ideal for a collaborative, detail-driven MLS professional who excels in leadership, quality oversight, and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities- Direct and support Medical Technicians, MLS professionals, and assigned staff to ensure consistent workflow and high-quality performance across multiple laboratory disciplines
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all testing for assigned departments
- Maintain inventory, monitor supply usage, and support cost-effective operations
- Oversee quality initiatives, documentation, and compliance standards
- Perform a wide range of complex tests and procedures as needed
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules; troubleshoot equipment issues
- Collaborate closely with the TMC Laboratory to ensure alignment and continuity
- Work under the general direction of the System Director of Laboratory Operations
- Meets CLIA-88 General Supervisor qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory, or medical technology science
- ASCP certification required
- Minimum 3 years of MLS experience in a core laboratory setting
- Experience performing high-complexity testing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and computer systems
- Ability to read and speak English
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Availability to rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Master's degree in a related field and/or Business Administration
