Patient Transporter – UH Truman Medical Center

Mon – Fri 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Alt Wknds. Full‑time, 40 hrs/week. 101 Truman Medical Center, University Health Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

Job Description

Join our team as a Patient Transporter – where every day is an adventure. You’ll help patients, visitors, and equipment move safely, with care, speed, and a lot of heart.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Transport patients, visitors, specimens, and equipment throughout the hospital – admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Greet and assist patients and visitors with a friendly smile and comforting words.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, applying training to maintain smooth operations.
  • Collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and staff to ensure safe, comfortable patient transport.
Minimum Requirements
  • BLS Certified – must complete and maintain Basic Life Support certification.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to interact comfortably with patients, family, and staff.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; heavy lifting will be assisted.
  • Stand and walk all day; transport patients and equipment reliably.
  • Will complete training in oxygen transport, customer service, equipment maintenance, and Code Blue procedures.
Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or GED; medical terminology course a plus.
  • Prior hospital experience, especially in patient transport and equipment care.
