Overview
OPCO Skilled Management is seeking an Admissions Coordinator Support Specialist to support the Admissions Coordinators at our skilled nursing facilities in the Kansas City area. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills who is interested in healthcare admissions, census development, and resident transitions.
Position OverviewThe Admissions Coordinator Support Specialist assists with the intake, screening, and onboarding of new residents while helping maintain admissions guidelines and supporting census growth. This position works closely with the Admissions Coordinator, facility leadership, and referral sources to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition for residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Admissions Coordinators in maintaining and following admissions guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Manage incoming inquiries (walk-ins, phone calls, emails) and document information in admissions systems
- Assist with collecting applicant, referral, and clinical information for prospective residents
- Help screen prospective residents by comparing applicant information to established admission criteria
- Coordinate with nursing, social services, hospital discharge planners, and referral sources
- Assist with insurance verification and financial documentation prior to admission
- Schedule and assist with facility tours for prospective residents, families, and referral sources
- Prepare, organize, and track admission paperwork for timely completion
- Support census development by maintaining quality contact with referral sources via phone and email
- Assist with resolving resident and family concerns during the admission and transition process
- Participate in daily admissions or census meetings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma required
- Experience in healthcare, admissions, administrative support, or customer service preferred
- Familiarity with long-term care or healthcare services strongly preferred
- Professional appearance, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
