Staff auditor, Risk Manager​/Analyst

Overview

This position is assigned to assist in administering Americo's risk management responsibilities with the purpose of: improving operating efficiencies within the organization; identifying and evaluating the control environment and the effectiveness of that environment to reduce loss exposure; increasing awareness of Americo's risk exposures; and maintaining compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

• Plans, leads, directs reviews of financial, compliance & operational data
• Identifies improper accounting or documentation to ensure accuracy & adequacy of reports/records
• Researches issues and recommends appropriate course of action
• Prepares audit work papers - accurately and completely documents outcome
• Presents audit findings via reports/presentations, outlining findings & making recommendations
• Supports outside external auditing function

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures relating to auditing of operations, compliance, accounting and financial data
• Insurance industry as well as regulatory knowledge
• Risk Management & Governance concepts, practices and procedures including internal controls
• Understanding of Accounting principles
• Well organized, detail oriented, efficient and able to work independently and think critically
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Highly proficient user of database/spreadsheet and desktop processing applications
• Ability to set achievable and realistic goals as well as able to work around unforeseen obstacles and circumstances
• Ability to select and focus on the most important issues and balance multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
