Burns & McDonnell is looking for a driven individual to join its Financial Reporting team. The accounting organization is at the forefront of changes within the Company, whether through acquisitions, new entities (either domestic or international), or new business models. Responsibilities Include- Identify opportunities for optimization and scalability within financial reporting tools to meet evolving business needs.
- Extract, analyze, and interpret complex financial data from multiple sources to identify trends, variances, and actionable insights.
- Deliver comprehensive financial analyses that inform and influence leadership decision-making.
- Analyze financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs) across the Company, divisions, and locations to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare and deliver detailed month-end reporting for Global Practices, Regional, and International Locations.
- Design and deliver training programs for department staff and executive management on financial budgeting and forecasting processes to enhance organizational financial literacy.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and overhead analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
- Research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP guidance for complex and non-routine transactions; document accounting conclusions and ensure appropriate treatment in the financial statements.
- Serve as a technical accounting resource to the team by evaluating new accounting standards, complex accounting issues, and business initiatives.
- Maintain internal controls and support audit activities as required.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports prepared for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead or actively participate in annual departmental initiatives focused on innovation, efficiency, and process improvements.
- Champion best practices and introduce new methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Mentor and support the professional growth of staff accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
- Provide guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality outputs from team members.
- Perform other duties that align with the role’s focus on financial reporting, analysis, and organizational success.
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 years accounting/auditing experience required.
- Superior computer skills with a particular expertise in Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability and desire to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to work and communicate with various levels of management.
- Strong work ethic.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
