👋 About the Opportunity

We are a growing wealth management RIA based in Kansas City, MO, dedicated to providing holistic financial advice to individuals and families. Our tax practice is a core part of how we serve clients, and we’re looking to add a talented tax professional as we continue to expand.

In this role, you will:

• 60% of the role is dedicated to reviewing tax returns with clients, with a strong emphasis on tax planning and strategy
• Approximately 40 client returns
• 20% of the role involves tax return oversight
  , serving in a management capacity over CPAs who prepare and handle returns
• 20% of the role is focused on learning and supporting financial products
  , including Indexed Universal Life (IUL), annuities, and life insurance
• Collaborate closely with wealth advisors to support integrated financial planning
• Work directly with clients—answering questions, offering insights, and simplifying complex tax matters
• Help refine tax processes as the firm continues to scale
• Bring strong judgment, attention to detail, and a client-first mindset
• Active CPA license OR CPA candidate actively on track to obtain licensure
• 3–7 years of tax preparation experience
• Strong experience with personal tax returns
  ; business returns a plus
• Experience working in or alongside a wealth management / RIA environment is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with clients
