Patmos Hosting Inc. is seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Controller to lead the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will be based out of our Kansas City data center and will work closely with the CFO to support the financial operations of a growing data center business.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounting leader with experience in capital‑intensive environments
, such as data centers, construction, infrastructure, or industrial operations. Experience with construction accounting, fixed assets, and project cost tracking is a strong plus.

• Oversee all day‑to‑day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure accurate and timely close processes and reconciliations
• Maintain internal controls and support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
• Assist in tax preparation and tax planning

• Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Track operating expenses, capital expenditures, and project costs
• Provide financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decision‑making

• Track and account for large‑scale capital projects, including data center builds, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades
• Manage fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and asset disposals
• Monitor construction‑in‑progress (CIP) and ensure proper cost allocation
• Partner with operations and facilities teams to understand project timelines and costs

• Manage and develop accounting staff (as applicable)
• Improve accounting processes, systems, and documentation as the company scales
• Support system implementations and enhancements (ERP, accounting software, reporting tools)

• Work closely with the CFO, operations and executive leadership
• Serve as a financial resource for numerous stakeholders
• Support lender, investor, and vendor reporting as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience working in asset‑heavy or operationally complex environments
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills

• Experience in data centers, colocation, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or similar industries
• Construction accounting or project‑based accounting experience
• CPA or CMA designation
• Experience with capital expenditure tracking and fixed asset management
