Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drafter to assist in planning and preparing detailed drawings. The ideal candidate will apply standardized drawing techniques from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the direction of an engineer. You will be responsible for collecting initial drawings, calculations, and design ideas from engineers and combining relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.

Responsibilities

+ Apply company, client, and project drafting standards and procedures to draft control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection diagrams.

+ Coordinate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and verify design details according to company standards and best practices.

+ Provide a range of drawing production work including problem analysis, layout, detailing, and drafting on projects of substantial variety and complexity.

+ Collaborate with designers and drafters in other disciplines during drafting activities.

+ Communicate and correspond with internal design resources and external clients and personnel.

+ Execute design changes and project drawing revisions.

+ Maintain CAD proficiency and work toward mastering current CAD systems.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD

+

Experience with Microstation

+ Strong design and drafting skills

+ Knowledge of CAD systems and structural design

+

Experience with software such as Revit, Solidworks, Civil 3D, and Microstation

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's degree in Drafting

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology

Work Environment

The role involves working closely with engineers and project managers, applying drafting standards to create detailed schematics and diagrams. The position requires proficiency in CAD software and offers an opportunity to master current CAD systems. The work environment encourages collaboration and communication with both internal and external personnel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
