Immediate need for a talented Assistant Distribution Designer

• Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and material lists for overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Perform engineering-related calculations including pole loading/structural analysis, conductor sizing, voltage drop analysis, and transformer sizing.
• Ensure all designs adhere to client standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices including the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and stakeholders to meet project schedules and deliverables.
• Prepare and submit permit applications to governing agencies as required.
• Review and process field data collected during site visits to verify existing conditions and support design development.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve design-related issues.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously from initial assignment through completion.
• Maintain accuracy, quality, and consistency across all issued design packages.

• Minimum Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in ANY Engineering discipline is NOT eligible for this position.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on electric utility distribution design experience (candidates must NOT be entry‑level drafters).
• Proven experience with overhead and underground distribution design is required.
• Proficiency in CAD software, GIS applications, and related design tools.
• Strong knowledge of electric distribution infrastructure, materials, and construction practices.
• Familiarity with NESC and other applicable utility standards and codes.
• Ability to interpret field data, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments.
• Note: Distribution design experience is a must and must be clearly reflected on the resume for consideration.
