Job Description As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In this position you will maintain a high mechanical joining, laser welding and sealing quality process, by following the Ford control plan.

Responsibilities
  • Assess joining feasibility through Global Product Development System milestones. Apply knowledge of welding processes, procedures, equipment, and evaluation techniques to deliver mechanical joining and weld quality objectives. Processes include SPR (Self Piercing Rivet), FDS (Flow Drill Screw), TOX nut clinch, TOX servo metal clinch, Stud piercing and Laser MIG welding.
  • Implement mechanical joining and weld certification strategy during launch and product or process change events.
  • Lead joining inspection team.
  • Develop, implement, train and enforce joining control plans and enforce requirements.
  • Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6-panel, etc.
  • Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently.
  • Support expedited concern resolution with multi-functional teams including the Quality Dept, Maintenance recovery, Production, and Suppliers.
  • Constant improvement mindset that allows for implementation to recognize areas of improvement to the joining process(es) status and improve upon this through identifying changes to the mechanics of the process itself.
  • Work in a team solution solving environment with Maintenance when a process is incapacitated. Help guide the team to solutions to the problem(s).
  • Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality within Body Area and initiate containment as vital, resolving root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to work any shift, as well as rotating shifts and weekends. This includes working some holidays and coverage for vacation of working counterparts on other shifts.
Qualifications

You'll have

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Weld engineering
  • One or more years’ experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Even better, you may have

  • Weld Certification
  • Previous experience within a high-volume production facility.
  • Previous automotive, welding engineering and quality analysis experience.
  • Experience with Bosch controllers.
  • Experience with Kuka or Rockwell automation.
  • Sealant experience.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team building skills
  • Rivet equipment and henrob knowledge
