Electrical Estimator
Direct Hire | Onsite (5 days/week)
Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, preparing competitive bid proposals, and supporting early project planning for electrical scopes of work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across project teams.

Job SummaryThe Electrical Estimator plays a key role in cost estimation and bid development for electrical components of infrastructure projects. This position partners closely with project management, engineering, and construction teams to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project goals.
Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesEstimation & Bidding
Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications, and project documents
Perform electrical take-offs for lighting, power distribution, utilities, and related systems
Assist with preliminary project scheduling
Project Analysis
Evaluate project feasibility, risk, and profitability
Collaborate with project management to align estimating strategies
Develop project risk matrices and mitigation plans
Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
Solicit, analyze, and compare vendor and subcontractor bids
Ensure pricing reflects current labor and material costs
Provide recommendations for vendor and subcontractor selection
Client Interaction
Communicate with clients during the bid process to clarify scope and requirements
Present and explain estimates and proposals to clients, designers, and operations teams
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain organized and detailed estimating records and bid documentation
Support historical cost databases, bid tracking, and estimating software systems
Collaboration
Work closely with estimating, project management, engineering, and construction teams to ensure smooth transition from bid award to execution
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience
Recent DOT estimating experience required
Experience with estimating and design software such as:
Agtek (Gradework, Highway, Underground & Materials)
HCSS Heavy Bid, Bid2
WinAutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
Willingness to travel locally as needed
