Job Overview

Sr Cables and Interconnects Engineer at Kansas City National Security Campus, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T). Design advanced manufacturing processes for national security components.

Responsibilities
  • Act as authority within area of expertise.
  • Plan projects and manage resources.
  • Monitor and analyze electrical testing of products.
  • Write technical reports and incorporate findings into specifications.
  • Transition design agency concepts into production by coordinating engineering, quality, manufacturing, and related organizations.
  • Lead developing operating procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria on new products and components.
  • Define/recommend design changes, designs of experiments, and equipment necessary to assure product quality.
  • Plan and perform engineering testing and use advanced statistical and scientific methods to address and resolve critical engineering and production problems.
  • Determine acceptability of processes and materials in conjunction with customers, design agency and other affected organizations.
  • Provide technical consultation to management and lead technical project teams.
  • Evaluate and implement innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety.
  • Lead, train and mentor Engineer I, II and III on various test processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering or related technical activities.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary DOE security clearance.
