WSP is currently searching for a highly experienced and motivated Geomatics Market Lead
/
Project Manager to join our Midwest Region Geomatics Team. This position plays a critical role in delivering surveying and geospatial solutions for Transportation and Infrastructure projects across the Midwest, with a focus on state and local DOTs, MPOs, and transit agencies. The preferred location for this position is Minneapolis, MN
, but can also be located in our other Midwest hub offices:
Detroit, MI

, Kansas City, MO
, or St. Louis, MO
. The successful candidate will lead project delivery, business development, and staff mentorship while ensuring technical excellence and high-quality deliverables. This is a seller-doer role with broad responsibility for pursuing, winning, and managing geomatics-related projects.

- Mentor and support local staff with a focus on geomatics standards, career development, and technical growth.
- Foster collaboration across disciplines and offices to deliver integrated solutions.

- Inspire and motivate staff while maintaining strong team morale and engagement.
Clients
- Lead client engagement and relationship development across the Midwest region.
- Drive strategic growth of geomatics services within the Transportation and Infrastructure market.
- Develop proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets tailored to client needs.
- Identify cross-discipline opportunities and collaborate with internal and external partners.
Expertise
- Manage and oversee geomatics projects including surveying, mapping, GIS, remote sensing, and SUE.
- Lead preparation of estimates, proposals, and technical deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and QA/QC procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and governance across major projects and pursuits.
Operational Excellence
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in geomatics practices.
- Lead initiatives to enhance project delivery, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Support recruitment, training, and development of geomatics staff.
- Collaborate with internal departments and subconsultants to optimize performance.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in geomatics, land surveying, GIS, remote sensing, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in geomatics services, with a focus on Transportation and Infrastructure.
- Proven track record of winning and managing geomatics projects for DOTs and public agencies.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Experience with CAD and geospatial data processing software.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Knowledge of land surveying and geospatial analysis principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to safety, ethics, and WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and be willing to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license; multiple licenses highly preferred.
- FAA Part 107, CP/CMS, GISP, or PMP certifications.
- Established relationships with DOTs, county agencies, and other regional clients.
