Overview
Join the Team Revolutionizing Vehicle Intelligence
At Ride Controller, we're fueled by a passion for disrupting and leading the future of intelligent vehicles. We love designing and introducing groundbreaking new products that redefine how vehicles, boats, and off-road machines operate—setting the standard for next-generation control systems. Our thoughtful product design, rapid time-to-release, and strategic development approach mean we say "no" to many ideas so we can say "yes" and truly excel at the ones that matter most.
As a Tier 2 supplier to leading OEMs in marine, RV automotive, and off-road racing, our NEXTGEN Power and Control platforms equip some of the world's most sophisticated vehicles with smarter, more reliable electrical systems. We're a small, agile team of capable engineers in downtown Kansas City, building cutting-edge hardware and software that exceeds clientele expectations.
If you're tired of corporate bureaucracy—being siloed into a narrow slice of product design, navigating endless politics, or working in environments that lack true commitment to design excellence—and instead crave real ownership, broad impact, and growth in a dynamic setting where your work directly shapes industry-leading innovations, this is your opportunity. We're experiencing strong year-over-year growth and need a talented Electrical Design Engineer to help us scale the backbone of our control platforms: devices that integrate seamlessly with HMIs, touchscreens, and mobile apps.
If Next-Gen Power Systems, CANBus, Bluetooth LE, RGB LED Control, and automotive-grade infotainment excite you, let's talk!
What You’ll Do- Lead electrical hardware design for complex analog, digital, and power systems, from schematic capture to PCB layout, prototyping, troubleshooting, and debugging—contributing directly to disruptive products that lead the market.
- Own full-cycle projects end-to-end: estimate effort, evaluate technologies, collaborate with partners and vendors, and drive strategic features to rapid release.
- Provide technical leadership on projects, following Agile or Waterfall methodologies as needed, with a focus on thoughtful design and excellence in high-impact areas.
- Use tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and more to validate designs and ensure automotive/marine-grade reliability.
- Innovate on IoT-enabled systems, ARM-based processors (NXP/STM), Wi-Fi/BLE integration, and consumer-facing products that set new benchmarks for intelligent vehicle operation.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent (3.0+ GPA preferred).
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing complex schematics and PCBs (multi-layer, high-speed, power distribution).
- Deep expertise in one or more areas: analog/digital circuits, RF, DSP, or DC power systems.
- Self-motivated problem-solver with high attention to detail, strategic thinking, and a drive to deliver disruptive, market-leading solutions using the best tools and methods—one who thrives on broad ownership rather than siloed tasks.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer strongly preferred; experience with ARM processors, CAN bus, BLE, small displays, BSP development, or IoT is a big plus.
What sets us apart is our relentless focus on disruption and leadership:
We thoughtfully design innovative products, move rapidly from concept to release, and strategically prioritize the ideas that will transform intelligent vehicles—all with an unwavering commitment to product design excellence.
Here, you ll escape the limitations of big corporate environments—no silos restricting your growth, no draining politics, just focused, high-impact work on products that matter.
We re a tight-knit team centered on innovation and results. We expect an energetic work ethic from each team member—because passion drives breakthroughs. At the same time, we set the standard week at 40 hours (with rare overtime converted to PTO). We believe an energized 40-hour work week, combined with a balanced life, lead to sustainable success—we believe a recharged team is far more innovative, and we'll win the market through that innovation.
