. Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, a national multi‑disciplined engineering and architecture consulting firm, is seeking a full‑time Project Manager to join our Midwest Region team in Kansas City, Missouri. The role focuses on managing NEPA and environmental projects through all phases, from proposal development to final deliverable approval.
You will manage NEPA and environmental projects through all phases, including:
- Proposal preparation and client coordination.
- Management of schedules and budgets.
- Coordination and oversight of project teams (task leads, resource specialists, subconsultants, etc.).
- Collaboration with engineering staff across multiple disciplines.
- Principal author of NEPA documentation:
Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusions (CE), and pre‑NEPA planning documents. - Provide accurate quality control and strong written communication.
Additional tasks may include:
- Technical expertise in environmental resource disciplines (noise, biology, wetlands, hazardous materials, cultural resources, air quality, etc.).
- Conducting field surveys, evaluating environmental impacts and mitigation requirements, and writing technical reports.
- Supervising staff within the Environmental Practice as needed.
- Building relationships with clients locally and nationwide.
- Provide project management, NEPA documentation preparation, and oversight.
- Serve as project manager for NEPA/environmental projects firmwide; coordinate with task leads.
- Collaborate on preparation of environmental documentation, including resource‑specific technical reports, CEs, EAs, and EISs.
- Support the national environmental practice through marketing, proposal preparation, and environmental analysis and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering professionals across Wilson & Company to meet project goals.
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in Environmental Sciences, Transportation Planning, Environmental Planning, or similar discipline (advanced degrees considered).
- 7+ years of experience managing environmental projects for federal, state, local, and tribal clients under NEPA and related regulations.
- Knowledge of Arizona regulatory environment (if applicable).
- Experience in the environmental consulting industry with task management, schedule and budget discipline.
- Proven ability to work on a team of professionals to accomplish project and program goals.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite and related software.
- 10+ years of experience managing NEPA and environmental projects.
- Technical writing experience authoring NEPA documents (PELs, CEs, EAs, EISs).
- Collaboration with federal agencies and environmental resource agencies.
- Expertise in biological resources, wetlands, hazardous materials, air quality, noise, historic/cultural resources, etc.
- Experience with permitting (e.g., Section 404 Clean Water Act, Section 7 Endangered Species Act).
- Professional certifications are a plus.

Annual Salary Range: $80,000‑$120,000 (depending on experience).
