Structural Engineer - Solar (Multiple Locations)

Join Burns & McDonnell as a Structural Engineer on our Solar team across multiple U.S. locations. The role focuses on design and construction of renewable energy projects, including solar, hydrogen, and energy storage.

• Perform structural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for a variety of solar and renewable projects.
• Design structural components per project manager specifications.
• Apply knowledge of engineering concepts, codes, and industry standards.
• Research and compile project‑related data.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain compliance with policies and standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related ABET‑accredited program (or equivalent technical degree with FE exam). Master’s may substitute for one year of experience.
• Minimum 3 years of structural engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques, codes, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical, methodical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficient with structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D) and AutoCAD.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Attention to detail, teamwork, collaboration, and organization.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required;
  Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
