Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site role for an Assistant Chief Engineer located in Kansas City, MO. The Assistant Chief Engineer will oversee and maintain technical operations, ensure functionality of broadcast equipment, and support the station’s engineering team.

Responsibilities include managing equipment, assisting with technical installations and upgrades, troubleshooting system issues, and adhering to industry and safety standards. Collaboration with other departments to ensure seamless broadcast operations is a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining broadcast systems, including RF transmission, video/audio equipment, and IT workflows.
• Strong technical knowledge in networking, IP‑based systems, and IT infrastructure maintenance related to broadcasting.
• Experience with equipment installation, repair, and preventative maintenance processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to respond promptly to technical challenges.
• Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to collaborating across departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field is preferred; equivalent technical training and experience will be considered.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed for maintenance or technical emergencies.
