Senior Telecommunications Engineer

This job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.
Base Pay Range$ - $ per year
Responsibilities- Play a role in the entire design process, including preliminary assessments, concept creation, internal and external problem resolution, drawing and specification production, customer and vendor accessibility.
- Provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings which include structured cabling systems, wireless, audio‑visual, and other low voltage systems.
- Lead BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings.
- Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
- Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages.
- Mentor other team members.
- Work with the lead engineer and/or department manager to identify processes to make the department run more efficiently.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems.
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam.
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs.
- Experience in providing Quality Assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others.
- Experience with startup and commissioning of telecommunications systems.
- Experienced in creating a budget for a project.
- Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule.
- Experienced in identifying and mitigating company risk.
- PE license is required; multiple PE licenses are desirable.
- 4 years Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers.
- Experience working on other low voltage systems, including security, audio/visual, wireless.
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms.
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems.
- Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures.
- Credential as an RCDD.
