Overview
We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join our growing Roadway/Highway design team in the Kansas City region. The ideal candidate will be an EIT with experience on local agency and/or DOT roadway design projects.

We provide multi‑disciplined services for public agencies and private entities, including transportation design, water resources design, environmental analysis & permitting, construction engineering & inspection, traffic engineering & transportation planning, surveying, and land acquisition & appraisal. Our Roadway/Highway Design team works on a wide variety of street, roadway, highway, and multimodal transportation design projects for local public agencies and state DOTs.
Responsibilities- Prepare preliminary design plans, documents, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers
- Conduct analyses and perform standard computations, drawings, and visual aids for projects
- Coordinate work with entry‑level engineers, technicians, or other staff
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments
- Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling
- Support the development of cost estimates for projects
- Perform quality control self‑checks of assigned work
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET‑accredited program
- Passed FE/EI exam
- 5+ years of relevant roadway design engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station
- Strong understanding of design principles and standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
