Position Summary:Under the direction of the School Principal, the Dual Language Program Specialist will support Dual Language classrooms by establishing and implementing dual language programs. This includes providing professional development, curriculum development, and data analysis to ensure the program's success. The specialist also fosters collaboration among teachers, administrators, and families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinate recruitment of new students and conduct informational sessions at schools and in the community for prospective families.Collaborate with feeder elementary, middle, high schools, and post-secondary institutions to ensure program articulation and curriculum alignment.Communicate regularly with parents to update them on program happenings, identify community resources, and support students' academic growth.Work with school administrators to develop criteria for teacher recruitment and serve on interview committees.Develop and implement training programs for staff on the school's model, approach, and fundamentals of Dual Language Immersion Programs.Create a list of community language resources (e.g., speakers, venues for field trips) to facilitate authentic language use.Research curriculum materials and resources suitable for Dual Language Programs.Establish procedures for staff collaboration on planning and instructional implementation.Stay current on research and best practices related to language learners; attend trainings and conferences.Network with other school districts and regional Dual Language Program schools.Maintain up-to-date program communications (website, video, brochure).Advocate for the needs of Dual Language Program students within the district.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:• Master's Degree in a content-related area.
• Hold or be eligible for Missouri teacher certification.
• Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience implementing creative strategies to address student and teacher challenges.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into school operations and classroom practices.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding diverse teams.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and adapting to evolving educational standards.
• Solutions-oriented approach to challenges in a dynamic school environment.
