Job Description

Colonial Presbyterian Church is seeking an energetic individual to step into the role of Student Ministries Boy’s Leader at the Overland Park Campus. The Student Ministries Boy’s Leader is responsible for the spiritual leadership and development of ministries aimed at 6th-12th grade boys. The selected individual will collaborate with the Overland Park Student Ministries team to provide a cohesive and Christ-centered ministry across the Middle School and High School years.

The Student Ministries Boy’s Leader will help organize the opening of the Light House as a hangout space for Students 3-5 days a week. The ideal candidate will help teach and mentor students, foster discipleship, and equip ministry partners and parents.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a personal devotional life, prayer, an exemplary Christian character, and personal spiritual growth.
  • Uphold the mission and the integrity of the Students Ministries at Colonial and Colonial Presbyterian Church as a whole.
  • Invest time and energy in initiating and cultivating relationships with 6th-12th grade boys to help them grow in their understanding of and application of the Gospel.
  • Help plan and participate in major events (camps, retreats, mission trips, conferences, summer seminars, confirmation) as requested by the Student Ministries Director.
  • Help Build ministry opportunities and relationships that reach beyond Colonial into the community.
  • Serve at all church or whole-campus outreach initiatives.
Skills and Requirements
  • Must profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and a desire/call to work with students.
  • Must possess and be able to demonstrate leadership, organizational and administrative (time management) skills that will allow for a successful ministry.
  • A valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with other Directors and other ministry teams within Colonial and the community.
  • Must be flexible in working hours with the ability to participate or lead activities during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Must help organize, lead, and be present for all major student ministry events including fall and spring retreats, summer mission trip(s), camp, canoe trip, etc.
  • A self-motivated desire to work in the ministry and ability to perform with limited supervision.
Working Conditions
  • Full – time exempt (40 hours).
  • Flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
