Special Education Teacher (Middle School, Grades 5–8) - Kansas City, MO

Pay Rate: $40/hr

40 per week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM)

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join a middle school team serving students in grades 5–8. This position involves working with a caseload of approximately 10 students, providing individualized instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure student success. The classroom includes para support to assist with day-to-day activities.

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support in both push-in and pull-out settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Support students with behavioral needs and foster a positive learning environment.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement (LBS1 preferred).
• Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).
• Ability to meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Current CPR certification and health clearance (as applicable).

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• TB screening and health certificate per state regulations.
