Description
POSITION:K-2 Intervention Teacher (Starting August 2026)
PURPOSE OF JOB:To provide effective intervention support and instruction to students in math and ELA in effort to ensure all students are performing at or above grade level expectations. Work effectively with all school personnel, students, parents and community members, and be cognizant of all state and district requirements in serving the needs of students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Embrace and advance the mission of University Academy, which is to prepare students to succeed in college and become leaders in society.
- Embody core values of results, integrity, self-improvement, and excellence.
- Coordinate with Student Support Team (SST) in analyzing student data to determine students who require instructional intervention.
- Conduct small group math and ELA instruction with students who meet requirement for instructional intervention.
- Work with teachers and Student Success Team to determine individualized learning targets for students.
- Conduct ongoing formative and interim assessment to gauge student progression toward individual learning targets.
- Meet weekly with teachers to assist in planning for intervention strategies to utilize in the general classroom.
- Provide teachers and parents with resources to assist with ongoing intervention.
- Collaborate with teachers to provide support to students in the general classroom setting.
- Attend parent/teacher conferences for students who receive intervention services.
- Supervise students throughout the school day and as directed by the principal before or after school hours.
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
- Comply with good safety practices.
- Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
- Participate in evening and weekend school functions as determine by building principal.
- Other duties/responsibilities deemed necessary may be assigned.
- Candidate must have a desire to work in an urban school environment with the purpose of closing the achievement gap.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years teaching experience
- K-5 Missouri teaching certificate
- Masters in reading, math, or Special Education
- Experience working as a Title One, RTI teacher, or interventionist in an urban school.
K-2 Building Principal
