Position Summary The Avila University School of Allied Health Sciences is actively seeking a Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Coordinator for the Radiologic Science program. The Clinical Coordinator will have a full‑time faculty appointment and will support the program by teaching didactic and laboratory courses, assisting with curriculum development, and promoting student success. This role contributes to program effectiveness by participating in assessment activities, maintaining knowledge of current radiologic science practices, and supporting compliance with JRCERT accreditation standards.
Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to high‑quality education are essential for this position.
- Correlates clinical education with didactic education.
- Evaluates students in a clinical and didactic setting.
- Participates in didactic and/or clinical instruction.
- Coordinates all clinical placements ranging from primary to secondary rotations.
- Maintains positive relationships with clinical affiliates through consistent in‑person visits.
- Upholds JRCERT accreditation requirements in conjunction with the Program Director and faculty.
- Maintains ongoing knowledge of ARRT competency requirement updates in radiography and monitors individual student achievement to meet those requirements.
- Maintains professional licensure through ongoing continuing education.
- Supports the Program Director to help assure effective program operation.
- Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness.
- Participates in the assessment process as required by the University and JRCERT.
- Cooperates with the Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course materials.
- Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
- Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
- Teaches twenty‑four credits per academic year.
- Fulfills all full‑time faculty responsibilities as outlined by the university in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
- Champions diversity, builds an inclusive culture and learning experience, and maintains an equitable learning environment.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate‑level credit hours in the field of instruction. Evidence of active pursuit of a Master’s degree will be considered.
- MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE AMERICAN REGISTRY OF RADIOLGIC TECHNOLOGISTS.
- MUST HAVE/OBTAIN A KANSAS STATE BOARD OF HEALING ARTS LICENSE.
- Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in additional modalities desirable (ex. CT, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Radiography).
- Multilingual skills highly preferred.
- Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first‑generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributes to equity and social justice through their work.
