the department of world languages and cultures of the university of missouri-kansas city is continuously seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct faculty teaching positions in french, german, and spanish.

the intent of this announcement is to identify a pool of adjunct faculty who are qualified to deliver primarily undergraduate elementary and intermediate level courses.

minimum qualifications:

• bachelor's degree and native or near-native fluency in the foreign language required

preferred qualifications:

• master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in the foreign language or appropriate related field, or completed at least one year of a graduate program in the target language
• some college-level teaching experience (at least one semester of teaching)
• taught a full class in the target language at the high-school level or at an organization
• evidence of teaching excellence
• engaged in at least two teaching development activities, such as interning in a high school language program, shadowing a high school teacher or university professor for a semester, served as a teaching assistant, have taken a pedagogy course, or trained by a language coordinator
• completed a year-long study abroad program
• completed two or more conference presentations or publications (inlcuding trade, journalistic, or literacy) in or on the target language
