Assistant Boys Soccer Coach- Paseo

Purpose of Job

Provide instruction, leadership, and supervision to middle school students participating in the sports program.

• Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, learning rules and strategies, and student‑athlete improvement.
• Assist with academic monitoring alongside teachers, counselors, and other academic support staff.
• Supervise student‑athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times. The assistant coach will be on time for all practices and games and will not leave until all student‑athletes have left.
• Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and inventory used.
• Complete all required paperwork, including rosters, physicals, insurance forms, and parent consent forms.
• Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game management.
• Conduct the coach and self in an ethical manner during practices and contests, always exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship.
• Coordinate the program.
• Promote student‑athlete accomplishments academically and athletically.
• Continue professional growth through clinics and professional publications.

Must have a Teacher’s Certificate or a valid Substitute Certificate or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate.

• Be a full or part‑time employee in the District.
• Employed in the school as a teacher or administrator in which the candidate applies for a position.
