Overview
The Department of Race, Ethnic, and Gender Studies (REGS) at University of Missouri-Kansas City is hiring an adjunct instructor to teach part-time on topics related to Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality. The position involves teaching undergraduate students in introductory courses that provide a foundational understanding of ongoing issues in these areas. As an interdisciplinary department, the instructors may come from a variety of scholarly backgrounds.
This is a part-time, non-tenure track, non-benefit eligible academic position. The number of hours per week varies depending on the opportunity.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality as part of introductory offerings.
- Contribute to an interdisciplinary department with diverse scholarly backgrounds.
- Minimum Qualifications: A Master of Arts or Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching college/university courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; the REGS Department values community service/work experience.
Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
